"Merging Perimeters" features works which explore themes of identity. The physical body is subjectivized through its interpellation in representations which seek to recognize the material and metaphysical contours of the self as a being-in-the-world. The works, when co-assembled, participate in a dialogue concerning intersubjective navigation through various layers of cultural identity. This exploration can be physical, psychological, or both. Extending to our environments, these layers construct architectures of identity as hospitable sites for our desires of (re)connection. Drawing upon different modes of expression from culture and society, the traces of our existence remain captive in the markings of our space.
